  • The Rosetta Stone of Neural Mass Models (Physics Reports) · arXiv · Interactive companion site
Abstract summary: A unifying ladder of neural mass models — from the harmonic and Stuart–Landau oscillators through Wilson–Cowan and Jansen–Rit to the exact mean-field Montbrió–Pazó–Roxin model — written in a single push–pull notation in which stimulation, pharmacology, and coupling all enter as forcing terms on the same underlying oscillator, turning model choice for tES studies into a principled design decision.

  • The cortical column as a tuned receiver: a network mechanism for temporal-interference stimulation
Abstract summary: Temporal-interference (TI) stimulation promises focal, steerable stimulation deep in the brain, where two high-frequency currents overlap and their amplitudes beat at a low difference frequency. Yet an amplitude-modulated field carries no power at that beat frequency, so no passive, linear neuron can follow it. This work resolves the puzzle by modeling the cortical column as a tuned, nonlinear receiver — a network mechanism that demodulates the beat.
